About Me

Education:

I obtained my BA at St. Ambrose University (Davenport, IA), and I have a Master of Arts in Education from Lindenwood. I am currently working on a second master's from Lindenwood in Library Media. Way back when (I was in high school), I was an Alleman Pioneer (in Rock Island, IL).

Teaching History:

I started teaching right out of college in 2004 at Belleville West High School before moving to be closer to family again in 2007. I taught at Rockridge High School (enrollment of about 500!) for four years before beginning at Ladue in 2011. At Ladue, I have taught Literature & Composition, Composition, Novel, Expository Writing, and Heroes: Biblical & Mythological. I am also a Link Advisor for Link Crew. I also coached softball for three years.

Hobbies:

I am a bonafide English nerd: I love to read, write, and talk about reading and writing. I also love to be in the kitchen- baking, cooking, or eating. I recently discovered a love for running and completed my first two half-marathons in the fall of 2015. I hope to run more of them- as soon as I find the time to train again. I like watching TV (Game of Thrones!) and watching movies when I can fit it in! I used to play & coach softball, and when I was in high school I played lots of other sports too...so I also love to watch sports (Go Cards!) and play outside with my son (and hopefully daughter one day too) as he learns to love sports too!

Family:

I was married in 2010, and we welcomed our son Oliver in May of 2013. Hazel joined us in March of 2016. Our families live about four hours from St. Louis, so we make sure to find weekends to travel and see them whenever we can.
